I have been experimenting with various colour designs with each of the characters, this is going to help me to decide on the colour scheme much easier, here is what I have come up with for Gretel. Again Kieron was kind enough to draw the outline of Gretel.

Statement of Intent presentation

Here is the presentation of the final idea and the finished designs of the characters there is still a lot more design that I am going to need to do before I can start modelling.  

Rational - presentation

Here I am showing the presentation of my ideas and what I had at that time, it was the first presentation we had for this module so there isn't that much to show it was basically idea development and so on. 

Ideas - Fairy Tales (Hansel and Gretel)

Hansel and Gretel

• Two children are happy at home with their parents oblivious to the fact that the parents are struggling for food to feed them. 
• They are struggling so much that it gets to the point of where the father believes that his children can handle it on their own.
• He takes Hansel and Gretel out into the woods, and gives them bread to eat. He thens leaves them in the woods alone.
• Hansel and Gretel think they are fine as they left bits of bread behind as they walked into the woods in order to find their way back home. 
• They follow the rail of breadcrumbs and realise that the trail has disappeared, they had forgotten that birds like bread, the birds ate all the bread crumbs they left behind.
• The children begin to panic. 
• They attempt to find their own way home and continues to walk hoping to find a way out.
• They find a opening and see a house made of candy. 
• They are so happy that they have finally found food, they run to the house and start to eat parts of it.
• An old lady comes to the door and invites them in. They see her as no threat as she has candy. 
• The old lady is actually a cannibal witch, she locks the children up and forces them to eat so they can get fatter. Gretel is forced to clean.
• The witch believe Hansel is now fat enough for her and starts preparing the oven. Gretel knows what is going to happen and is terrified as well as Hansel. 
• Whilst the witch is tending to the oven Gretel pushes her in and puts it on the highest temperature. 
• The witch screams and screams whilst she is cooked alive. 
• Gretel sets Hansel free and runs back out into the woods. 
• They then find their father who is so apologetic and feel so bad that he had left them along to fight for themselves. 
• The father then takes them home. 

 This is another story that can be turned into a more realistic one. I think I prefer the Hansel and Gretel story as I am able to turn it into a kidnapping situation rather than a cannibal witch. It could simply be that children had wandered off into the wooded area and got lost and an old find them and comes to their rescue. 

Ideas - Fairy Tales (Little Red Riding Hood)

Little Red Riding Hood

• A little girl is at home playing when her mother asks her to take a basket of food to her grandmas house.
• Her grandmas house is at the other side of the woods, her grandma needs the basket as she is unwell and need fresh food to make her better. 
• The mother warns the little girl (Red Riding hood) to keep to the path as it can be dangerous to wander off. 
• Red riding hood dismisses her mother and sets off for the journey through the woods.
• She happily skips along though the woods.
• At Grandmas house, a wolf turns up and eats Grandma. The wolf then wait for little red riding hood as he saw her coming his way. 
• Little red riding hood enters the house not knowing what has happened.
• When she see what she thinks is her grandma her reaction is 'why what a big nose you have Grandma' the wolf replies 'all the better to smell you with'
• 'Why what big ears you have grandma' said red riding hood 'all the better to hear you with' The wolf says.
• 'Why what big eyes you have' the wolf replies 'all the batter to see you with my dear' and finally ' why what big teeth you have grandma' the wolf says 'all the better to eat you with' whilst attempting to pounce on red riding hood. 
• Little red riding hood lets out a massive shriek, a huntsman hears and comes running to her rescue. 
• He finds red riding hood cornered off in grandmas room by the wolf. He then attack the wolf with his axe. The blow kills the wolf. 
• Red riding hood tells the huntsman that the wolf ate her grandma so the huntsman cuts open the wolfs belly in order to save her grandma.
• The grandma is freed and they are now all safe and the wold is gone. 

Now with this story it has potential to have a more realistic story made from it. But first I will take a look at Hansel and Gretel before I decide on which one will work better. 

Ideas - Fairy tales (Snow White)

Snow White

• A beautiful girl (Snow white), is forced to run away into the woodland. The queen of the land wants to be the most beautiful girl there but with Snow white who is more beautiful she is unable to.
• She threatens Snow white and orders a huntsman to kill her. So Snow white then runs as far away as she can.
• She find a small house in the woods in which she rests there, not knowing that seven dwarves live. 
• The dwarves arrive home after a long day working in the mines to find Snow white.
• At first they are unpleased to see her, but then they see the potential to have a personal maid for free. 
• They all get along nicely, living together.
• However the queen speaks into her magic mirror which then tells her Snow white is still alive and is still the most beautiful in the land. The queen is furious.
• She sends people to hunt her down and kill her. 
• They are unsuccessful.
• The queen feels that she can do a better job so she finds Snow white and disguises her self as an old lady selling apples. 
• The apples are poisonous.
• Snow white falls for the cunning plan that the queen has planned, Snow white buys an apple and eats it.
• Snow white is then put into a coma and the only way she can be awakened is by a true love kiss. 
• The queen feel victorious.
• A prince is travelling through the woods in order to hunt animals, he comes across the helpless woman in a coffin like box.
• The box that the dwarves created for her in order to keep her warm. 
• The prince finds her incredibly beautiful and falls in love with her straight away.
• He kisses Snow white hoping she will awaken. Snow white wakes up.
• Snow white tells the prince exactly what happened to her. 
• The prince then tells his king and the king banishes the queen for her wicked ways.
• The Prince and Snow white get married and live happily ever after.

Again this story is a bit far fetched and difficult to make it more realistic.
