Sony Pictures Animation is a computer animation based company owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment. It was founded in 2002, their first full featured film was Open Season in 2006. Open Season received a 6.1 from IMDb. Before Open Season they helped to create CGI effects for films such as Stuart Little, Shrek and Monsters Inc. There financial success started with The Smurfs as that made $563,749,323 world wide  from  a budget of $110,000,000, so it was a massive success. Other movie that they have contributed to consist of  The Pirates An Adventure With Scientists, Surfs Up, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, Arthur Christmas and Hotel Transylvania.
