In order to texture I had to UV map my character. I found this quite difficult as it was like solving a puzzle making sure that nothing overlaps. This is very time consuming which i didn't realise, I needed to plan my time better.
After I had created the UV maps, I moved the maps into photoshop and started applying textures. I gathered textures from CGtextures.com. However for the eyes Kieran gave me a selection as he had already acquired them previously. I tried to make the textures almost the same as the concept art. There are a few problems with the textures as the shirt at the back doesn't match up and the jeans texture looks slightly distorted in certain areas. I attempted to correct this but I didn't have enough time to fix them completely.
I did try out the character in smooth mode but I personally thought that the less poly one looked better.
