Animating within video games - Laboratory design

For the environment, we are looking into a laboratory background. This is to go go with the futuristic theme of the game. The first sequence where the games starts is where Flob breaks out of a large glass canister that he was created in. There are two canisters to represent that there maybe another Flob out there. These are the original sketches that I came up with.




I then coloured the 2nd sketch within photoshop to find the correct colour scheme for the overall Lab environment. I tried to use colours that would work with the colour of Flob and to make sure that he stands out from the background.



The main level design will be laboratory theme corridors. These corridors will have various obstacles to defeat, for instance drones and robots guarding them.  Here are a few design that I have managed to come up with.





I choose to do various designs ranging from the simple corridor to the very futuristic corridor. We found that a mix between the both would work best as we don't want the corridor to out stand more than the player. The idea is to have scientists animated in the background working. The scientists can be seen through the windows.
